Portfolio Concept

I'm a formally trained, interdisciplinary artist and professional independent video editor and filmmaker. To execute creative projects, for example, I've incorporated a vast amount of design concepts, digital as well as technical skills within my work. I also have a background in sales, presentation and logistics in retail & commerce, which has allowed me to think about design in terms of a physical, architectural form, from a brick and mortar business aspect/approach. As well, I've utilized skills such as breaking down projects through project management. Being on the user side of technology during most of my work experience, I'm now looking forward to be on the developer side, using these transferable skills to become a junior web developer! Project Goals

My goal at the end of each weekend is to have already accomplished at least 2-3 exercises, although there will occasionally be more exercises completed on a week when I'm more available. I plan to commit a minimum of 15-20 hours/week and more hours when I have time off from my current job.

From a more artsy perspective, I began pursuing web development when I recognized code as an art form; a language of electronic communication formed by a system of signals and symbols of instruction. I’ve always been drawn by websites which can become catalyst platforms helping others, spreading awareness, promoting/sharing things people love or care about, and which allow others to interact and meet with those they typically would not within our physical world. As well, it’s also fascinating as an individual, remote coder to be a part of a globalized network with others who are working with the same tools. The artistry is within the coding, however the results are sculpted, interactive pieces of gorgeous digital art in the form of web pages!
